1. National Emblem
On the summit of an Ashokan pillar at Sarnath, near Varanasi, in the state of Uttar Pradesh, the National Emblem of India depicts four lions. It has carvings of an elephant, a horse, a bull, and a lion spaced apart by intervening wheels over a bell-shaped lotus at its base, which is also known as the Dharma Chakra or Wheel of Law. On January 26, 1950, the Indian government decided to use this symbol as its National Emblem.

Tiranga is India’s flag, and it is its national flag. Pingali Venkayya created the flag, which the Constituent Assembly approved on July 22, 1947. The country’s bravery and strength are symbolized by the top saffron color. The white middle band demonstrates harmony and truth with Dharma Chakra. The land’s fertility, growth, and auspiciousness are portrayed by the color green. Its design is similar to the wheel on the abacus of Ashoka’s Sarnath Lion Capital.
3. National Currency
India’s currency is the rupee, or INR. India’s currency is the rupee. The Reserve Bank of India monitors currency movement. Udayakumar Dharmalingam is credited with creating the Indian rupee.
4. National anthem
The five stanzas of the Indian national anthem “Jana-gana-mana” were all written by the renowned Indian poet and Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore. The first time it was performed was on December 27, 1911, in Calcutta at a meeting of the Indian National Congress in then-colonial India. In 1957, the Calendar Committee introduced the Saka Calendar. The official beginning of the Saka Calendar was on March 22, 1957, the first Chaitra of the 1879 Saka Era.
5. Oath of Allegiance
The Indian national oath of allegiance is known as the Oath of Allegiance. The national anthem maintains peace, unity, and brotherhood throughout the nation.
6. National Song
Bankim Chandra Chaterjee wrote “Vande Mataram” for his Bengali book “Anand Math.” The independence fighters of the time quickly adopted the song, which oozed patriotic fervor and admiration for the motherland.
7. National Flower
India’s National Flower The water lily, a member of the Nymphaea family of aquatic plants, holds the title of India’s National Flower. The broad, precisely arranged petals of the large, lovely pink blossoms convey a sense of tranquility and elegance.

Imperial Bengal Tiger is the public creature of India and positions among the greatest felines on the planet. Due to the declining number of tigers, it was chosen as India’s national animal in April 1973.
9. National Bird
The Indian peacock (Pavo cristatus), India’s national bird, is the national bird. The peacock, a bird of the subcontinent, is used in Indian culture as a symbol of the unity of vivid colors.
10. National Aquatic Animal
The Ganges waterway dolphin has been pronounced as the Public Sea-going Creature of India by the Indian government.
11. National Fruit
Indians have long referred to ripe, meaty mangoes as the “King of all fruits,” and they are unquestionably delicious. Mangoes are the national fruit of India. The raw pickles can be used to make spiced pickles, which are a staple of Indian cuisine.
12. National Reptile
The King Cobra, also known as the Snake Eater (Ophiophagus hannah), is the national reptile of India. It can be found in the forests of Southeast Asia and India.
13. National Tree
National Tree (Banyan Tree) The Banyan tree, officially known as Ficus benghalensis, is India’s national tree. Because it is associated with longevity and possesses important medicinal properties, the tree is frequently used as a representation of the fabled “Kalpa Vriksha,” or “Tree of Wish Fulfillment.”
14. National Hertiage Animal
The Indian elephant is the country’s national animal and its national heritage. Since elephants are on the verge of extinction, the Indian elephant was designated a national heritage animal as a precaution.
