International Yoga Day 2024: हर साल 21 जून को दुनिया भर के लोग अंतर्राष्ट्रीय योग दिवस मनाने के लिए एक साथ आते हैं। यह वैश्विक घटना योग की प्राचीन भारतीय प्रथा और मानसिक, शारीरिक और आध्यात्मिक स्वास्थ्य पर इसके गहन प्रभाव को पहचानती है।
“योग” शब्द संस्कृत मूल युज से लिया गया है जिसका अर्थ है “जुड़ना”, “जोड़ना” या “एकजुट होना”, जो मन और शरीर की एकता, विचार और क्रिया, संयम और पूर्ति, मानव और प्रकृति के बीच सामंजस्य और स्वास्थ्य और स्वास्थ्य के प्रति समग्र दृष्टिकोण का प्रतीक है।
प्रधानमंत्री अब 30 मिनट के सत्र में योग कर रहे हैं। इस वर्ष की थीम, “स्वयं और समाज के लिए योग”, व्यक्तिगत स्वास्थ्य और सामाजिक सद्भाव को बढ़ावा देने में है।
अंतर्राष्ट्रीय योग दिवस का इतिहास भारतीय प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के साथ शुरू हुआ। प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने 2014 में संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा में अपने भाषण में योग के उपलक्ष्य में एक वैश्विक दिवस नामित करने का सुझाव दिया था।
संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा ने दिसंबर 2014 में 21 जून को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय योग दिवस के रूप में घोषित करने के प्रस्ताव को भारी बहुमत से मंजूरी दी थी, जिसमें सभी लोगों के लिए योग की अपील को मान्यता दी गई थी।
