हिंदू पौराणिक कथाओं के आधार पर भगवान गणेश को भगवान शिव और देवी पार्वती का पुत्र माना जाता है। पौराणिक कथा के अनुसार, जब भगवान शिव क्रोधित हो गए, तो उन्होंने दुखी देवी पार्वती को सांत्वना देने के लिए भगवान गणेश का सिर काट दिया और उसके स्थान पर एक हाथी का सिर लगा दिया। इसलिए भगवान गणेश को हमेशा हाथी के सिर, चार भुजाओं और मांसल धड़ के साथ चित्रित किया जाता है। भगवान गणेश, जिन्हें एकदंत, गजानंद और लंबोदर अन्य नामों से भी जाना जाता है
गणेश चतुर्थी का महत्व
गणेश चतुर्थी उत्सव विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में 10 दिनों की अवधि के लिए मनाया जाता है और 28 सितंबर 2023 को गुरुवार को गणेश विसर्जन का समापन होगा। यह दिन भगवान गणेश को समर्पित है, भगवान गणेश बुद्धि, सौभाग्य और समृद्धि के देवता भी हैं।
इन दिनों भगवान गणेश का दिन है और हम पहले से ही जानते हैं कि भगवान गणेश को विभिन्न नामों से जाना जाता है जैसे- गजानन, धूम्रकेतु, एकदंत, सिद्धि विनायक आदि। इस दिन गणेश चतुर्थी का उत्सव मनाया जाता है
गणेश चतुर्थी उत्सव
गणेश चतुर्थी उत्सव हिंदू धर्म के सबसे पवित्र त्योहारों में से एक है। और हिंदू पौराणिक कथाओं के अनुसार उत्सव और पूजा विधि नीचे दी गई है।
भक्तों को सुबह जल्दी उठकर स्नान करना चाहिए और अच्छे साफ कपड़े पहनने चाहिए।
आठ लाल या पीले रंग के वस्त्रों से सुसज्जित एक चौकी लेना चाहिए और उस पर गणेश भगवान् की मूर्ति स्थापित करे
