Amazon Rainforest: अमेज़ॅन वर्षावन एक विशाल और विविध उष्णकटिबंधीय वर्षावन है जो दक्षिण अमेरिका में स्थित है, मुख्य रूप से ब्राजील में, लेकिन पेरू, कोलंबिया, वेनेजुएला, इक्वाडोर, बोलीविया, गुयाना, सूरीनाम और फ्रेंच गुयाना तक भी फैला हुआ है।

यह दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा वर्षावन है, जो लगभग 6.7 मिलियन वर्ग किलोमीटर (2.7 मिलियन वर्ग मील) में फैला है।

जैव विविधता: अमेज़ॅन अपनी अविश्वसनीय जैव विविधता के लिए प्रसिद्ध है, जिसमें अनुमानित 390 बिलियन व्यक्तिगत पेड़ लगभग 16,000 विभिन्न प्रजातियों का प्रतिनिधित्व करते हैं। यह लगभग 390 अरब व्यक्तिगत पेड़ों का घर है, जो पृथ्वी पर ज्ञात प्रजातियों का लगभग 10% है, और पौधों, जानवरों और सूक्ष्मजीवों की एक विशाल श्रृंखला का घर है।

खतरे: अमेज़ॅन वर्षावन को वनों की कटाई, अवैध कटाई, कृषि विस्तार और बुनियादी ढांचे के विकास सहित विभिन्न खतरों का सामना करना पड़ता है। ये गतिविधियाँ निवास स्थान के नुकसान, जैव विविधता में गिरावट और ग्रीनहाउस गैस उत्सर्जन में वृद्धि में योगदान करती हैं। इन गतिविधियों के कारण क्षेत्र में रहने वाले स्वदेशी समुदाय भी खतरे में हैं।
