2,000 notes to be withdrawn from circulation; Validity will remain intact for the time being
The Reserve Bank of India has announced that ₹2,000 notes will be withdrawn from circulation. The RBI further said that the ₹2,000 banknote introduced in 2016 will continue to be valid for the time being. According to RBI, till September 30, 2023, ₹ 2,000 notes can be exchanged in all banks of the country.
